Wednesday January 3, 2018 – Evil From Childhood
Today the reading from C.S. Lewis was a little obscure to me so I chose a portion from the scripture reading for today. This particular reference is from Genesis 8 which describes Noah and God just after the flood has receded. 21 The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: “Never again will I curse the ground because of humans, even though every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done. 22 “As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.”
I thought it was interesting that God didn’t decide to spare mankind from the total destruction of another flood because there had been a huge change in his character. The reality is that God knew that mankind still had evil in his hear, but that he had other plans for the world and all the living creatures in it.
